"Can't believe it ....We're soft launched! Just wanted to thank you guys. I realize there is still stuff on the to-do list on all our parts...but the feedback we are getting is very positive. People like how CLEAN the site is...and the focus on the Calendar and Dining. Thank you again!"
Mobile Web: Green Bay Net
Mobile is the present and the future of the Internet and society. Green Bay Net is taking our customers forward with mobile versions of all of our client sites! The first one we are showcasing: greenbaynet.com
Pull it up on your iPhone, iPod Touch or Android mobile phone! Future mobile phones may be supported, but we like the "80% Rule" for most things online. Right now, those two platforms make up the vast majority of mobile browsing.
To the left, you can see a snapshot of the current site as it appears on the iPhone 4.
Why Does Mobile Matter?
If you are in business, you know that demographics can matter. Sure, in a perfect world everyone is your potential customer. However in the real world, your typical customers probably share some common characteristics. Income, age, education, etc. are all possible ways for you to tune your marketing to attract more of the customers that you want.
Especially in tough economic times, you want to spend your marketing dollars intelligently. Obviously the mobile market tends to be young, relatively affluent, but nearly all are "influencers" on the web. Because they are early adopters of new technology, they are frequently asked by colleagues and friends for their input.
That is today. Obviously, this holiday season and 2011 will bring far more widespread smartphone adoption.
Why Is Mobile Different?
As you can see from our site, we really stripped things down to the core of what we thought users wanted from us "on the go". Obviously the ability to call is important on a phone- so we provided a "tap to call" link. Similarly, the ability to email our staff is very simple to access. Finally, we kept our slideshow! As mobile phones have gotten more powerful, we wanted to showcase the fact that you don't have to give up on some of the amazing, modern web features to which we have grown accustom.
