NASA is 55 Today

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration - better known as NASA - was "launched" this day back in 1958.

202 missions later (wow!), and we are now entering into a new world where other nations have joined the U.S. in space exploration, and there are even privately funded spacecraft that are coming into use. Like we mentioned before, there is even a MISSION TO MARS!!!

What's your first memory of NASA? Do you remember the original launch of Columbia? Where were you for the Challenger explosion - or the later Columbia explosion?
